RECI – A personalized curriculum that gives special meaning to your studies

RECI for Research and creation, at the Community level, including indigenous communities and Internationally

As of fall 2022, first- or second-year Bachelor of Music students at Université de Montréal can embark for the very first time on a unique and innovative curriculum: RECI.

RECI is a plural and personalized curriculum that will introduce you to one-of-a-kind, enriching experiences that put social and topical issues at the center of your studies. The RECI curriculum will heighten your influence in the community and even internationally, and enable you to take one more step towards your success.

At the end of your bachelor’s, you’ll receive a unique certification: the RECI distinction. Your story is written here!

How does it work?

With our guidance, you select experiences that interest you so that you can shape your academic career in your own way. These may consist of a session abroad, a conference, a research internship during the summer, an involvement in a community organization, a social project in a project course, and so on.

Research and creative research: Add to your experiences not only in the scientific or academic community and the private sector, but within public institutions as well. You can take part in research projects and familiarize yourself with the methodologies of your area of training.

Community: Carry out field experiments in different community settings. You will thus get to participate, for short periods, in the activities of a variety of organizations in order to support them in the fulfilment of their mission.

International: Discover other countries, cultures or languages. Here you get to experience different types of mobility (exchange programs, training outside UdeM, research stays, internationalization activities on campus, and so on) or take part in a project in which the international component plays an important role.
