Recognized as educators , the members of the teaching staff at the Université de Montréal Faculty of Music are also prominent researchers, connected to international networks and in touch with the most recent research.
Students can join research teams and laboratories, in particular as research assistants, and develop their own work there.
Productive laboratories
The Faculty of Music is home to a number of research and research-creation laboratories as well as the Observatoire interdisciplinaire de création et de recherche en musique (OICRM), a strategic group that supports research within the Faculty walls and elsewhere. It also hosts the Canada Research Chair in Music and Politics and the Canada Research Chair in Opera Creation.
