Created in September 2023, the Université de Montréal Wind Ensemble brings together woodwinds, brass and percussion.

The ensemble is made up of some twenty musicians from the Faculty of Music, and from partner colleges as well, who rehearse once a week at Salle Serge-Garant. Two concerts are presented each year at the Faculty or at other locations.

The repertoire performed is varied, and includes works by composers like Barnes Chance, Calvert, Grainger, Holst, Milhaud, Read and Vaughan Williams, contemporary Canadian music, and transcriptions.
