Chamber music ensembles
An essential experience for every musician, this course offers the chance to play in geometrically variable ensembles and to explore a rich and diversified repertoire of vocal and instrumental works.
Les chambristes stupéfiants!
Throughout the academic year, a class of nearly 80 students from all degree levels presents concerts much in demand with Montréal audiences as part of a series called “Les chambristes stupéfiants!,” staged at the Faculty of Music’s Salle Claude-Champagne. From Bach to the premieres of works by up-and-coming composers through Mahler and Gershwin, the focus is on exploration and working together.
Les cordes avides
For motivated string players who are curious to try the adventure of chamber music in groups ranging from trios to nonets, this program offers the opportunity to get deeply involved in the study of this demanding and rewarding repertoire, to the delight of the public who come to appreciate the excellence of the work accomplished by these talented young people, supervised by a team of passionate teachers. The latter, themselves internationally renowned chamber musicians, regularly find themselves together on stage as part of the series Les Profs de l’UdeM en Concert, thus demonstrating their artistic and pedagogical commitment.
